What are the requirements for Altitude Diver Training Dive 1?
Considerations for altitude diving
If you are at an altitude of 2400-3000 metres, wait at least six hours after arriving before diving.
Required Skills
- Using a dive computer with altitude capability, determine the no decompression limits for the depth and altitude of the dive.
- Descend, using either a reference line or following a sloping bottom.
- Avoid unintentional contact with aquatic life and the ocean floor by maintaining neutral buoyancy.
- Compare their computer’s depth readings with another diver’s computer.
- Ascend no faster than the rate indicated by their dive computer.
- Ascend, using either a reference line or following a sloping bottom.
- Make a safety stop at a theoretical depth of 5 metres for at least three minutes or as their dive computer indicates.
- Use an inflatable signal tube at the surface or release a delayed surface marker buoy (DSMB) from underwater.
