Assistant Instructor Trainer Certification Requirements

What are the requirements to complete the Assistant Instructor Trainer course?

To be certified as a NovoScuba Assistant Instructor Trainer, the candidate must complete:

  • Complete the NovoScuba Instructor Standards Exam with a score of at least 80%
  • Complete the NovoScuba Instructor Dive Theory Exam with a score of at least 80%
  • Complete the 22 skills from the NovoScuba Skills Assessment with at least 90 points and no less than a 4 on each skill.
  • Present a Dive Knowledge Check Teaching session, achieving a score of 4.0 or higher.
  • Present a Confined Water Teaching sessions, achieving a score of 4.0 or higher.
  • Present a Open Water Teaching session, achieving a score of 4.0 or higher.
  • Audit a NovoScuba Instructor Course
  • Score and explain their evaluation of three Dive Knowledge Check Teaching sessions. The score should be within 0.5 of the control score
  • Score and explain their evaluation of three Confined Water Teaching sessions. The score should be within 0.5 of the control score
  • Score and explain their evaluation of three Open Water Teaching sessions. The score should be within 0.5 of the control score
