Instructor Course Requirements

What are the requirements to complete the Instructor Evaluation?

To complete the Instructor Evaluation, the candidate must:

  • Complete the Instructor Standards Exam with a score of at least 75%
  • Complete the Instructor Theory Exam with a score of at least 75%
  • Demonstrate skills in Confined Water with a score of at least 3.5 out of 5 for each skill
  • Teach two skills in Confined Water with a score of at least 3.5 out of 5
  • Teach two skills in open water with a score of at least 3.5 out of 5
  • Demonstrate how to rescue an unconscious diver at the surface

Each candidate must have a current first aid certificate and diving medical within the last 12 months
