How many participants can you take on the Intro to Scuba program?

These maximum numbers are for experienced instructors and staff teaching in ideal diving conditions. More information can be found on the Supervision of Intro to Scuba Participants page
If you also have certified divers joining your Intro to Scuba Diving participants, these certified divers count towards the number of students. You must stay within the total student numbers at all times.
For example, an Instructor taking two certified divers along on the open water dive of the Intro to Scuba program would only be able to take a maximum of two Intro to Scuba participants.
As a responsible Instructor, you must exercise good judgment before, during, and after your dive. You should assess the risks by considering factors such as water conditions, temperature, visibility, water movement, entry and exit points, the skill level of your fellow divers, the availability of certified assistants, and your limitations. Considering these factors will help you determine the appropriate dive ratio, which may need to be adjusted if conditions change. Additionally, monitoring participants and reassessing the situation throughout the dive is essential.
You may add two participants when using a Course Assistant
